Never again will you see so many Titanic survivors together.

Are you looking for a DVD featuring Titanic survivors? In April 1988, eleven, from age 76 to 100, were guests of The Titanic Historical Society’s convention at the Copley Plaza in Boston, Massachusetts. This historic video (now available in DVD) was not commercially made in a studio but created by a young producer and contains the best live interview of Ruth Becker Blanchard. Mrs. Blanchard was old enough to recall the disaster and tells a remarkable story as a missionary’s daughter in India that includes her personal photographs. Because of poor health the family was returning to the U.S. on Titanic. Leaving her father behind, she tells her mesmerized audience how they escaped with only the clothes on their back and how very lucky they were to survive with the family intact when so many others lost their lives. There is also a lengthy interview of Eva Hart, a second class passenger whose biography, “Shadow of the Titanic” is in its second printing. Eleven Titanic passengers attended that memorable convention and all have since passed away except for Millvina Dean. This was Millvina’s first trip across the Atlantic since Titanic. The others were Philip “Frank” Aks, who was 8 months old; Marjorie Newell Robb, a first class passenger; Louise Kink Pope, Bertram Dean, Millvina’s brother; Eleanor Johnson Shuman, Beatrice Sandstrom, Eileen Conyingham Shefer, a cross-channel passenger from Southampton to Cherbourg, and Michael Navratil. The Navratil brothers became the “infamous orphans” when their father kidnaped his sons, fleeing to America, perished in the sinking. Coincidentally, Mr. Navratil and Mrs. Blanchard, as children, had cabins across from each other and since that fateful night, they had not seen each other until they were reunited at this convention 76 years later! You can see and hear history in this remarkable DVD. As an extra, producer Robert Barnes, included a poignant portrait of Titanic in images and music. This DVD is a must to see and hear Titanic survivors.

Running time: 90 minutes. 1988.
