THS - The Original Wireless Key BuyNow

Click 'BuyNow' below for purchase..Maritime history is filled with heroic tales of rescues because of the telegraph. Samuel F. B. Morse created a receiving instrument, a key--a strip of steel pressed against metal contact, transmitting codes by opening or closing the circuit to a “sounder”--the receiving instrument produced a “click” when it was activated with power provided by a battery. Alfred Vail, a mechanically-inclined student signed on with Morse to streamline his design inventing the horizontal lever key, a design that has changed very little to this day. Morse and Vail devised the dot-dash-alphabet in 1838. This replica is based on the example in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. Here is your opportunity to own an authentic piece of wireless history--beautifully crafted, full-size, working replica, precision tooled of solid brass fittings and fastened to a polished wood base. Faithful reproduction of the original. Includes a descriptive color brochure. Measures 7.5 by 3 inches, (19 X 7.6 cm) Limited Edition of 750, engraved brass plate on base, brass unique number stamped on bottom. Made in England.
